The Maxi-Muppets Scooter Forum Founded by the almost legendary Ginger Phil, this site caters mainly to those scooterists who own larger machines. Size can be measured in either engine cc's or just bulk of the bike. Having said that there is just about every bike under the sun represented on the forum, I've even seen a Ludix. I've never had a maxi scoot but just barged in anyway and found are a great bunch of people. This forum is highly recommended.
The Chinese Scooter Club Forum This is another Ginger Phil forum (I'm not stalking him, honest !). Why might you ask should you drop in on the chat here if you don't own a cheapy Chinese bike. Well the answer is because this forum is great fun. The enthusiasm and affection these guys have for their internet bargain bikes takes some beating. Some of the posts are hair raising, some baffling, some hilarious, but it's always entertaining.
Twist and Go Magazine The only magazine dedicated to the modern auto scooter scene. It went through a horrific transformation a couple of years ago and tried to appeal to the chav market, but now it's back to what it does best. Extensive bike reviews, a buyers guide, and smaller articles on racing and pimping your bike. Always a good read. Now out bi-monthly. There is a forum on their website which tends to attract endless "your bikes sh**e" type posts by spotty teenagers whose only interest is in blowing up their new machine as soon as possible, but some discussions are of more interest. Buy the magazine and body-swerve the forum would be my advice !
Hein Gericke Ltd Hein Gericke gets a mention as it not only supplies excellent biker merchandise at reasonable prices, but is not one of those shops staffed by people who sneer at anyone packing less that 1000cc. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who don't rip you off. Recommended.
